What does the architect saycloseopen
The building creates a logical follow up to the historic development of closest surrounding which is presented by a development from the beginning of the last century. The architecture of this building reacts to the old development as well as to new metallic and glass building of VZP on Rooseveltova Street.
The design of Magnum Palace itself applies expressive glass panels (especially at the 1st and 2nd floor and the corner tower). There are façade elements made of stone in the details of the entrance from Benešova Street and in the entrance to the car elevator on Orlí Street.
The motive of slanted glass corner of the building evokes a deliberate feeling of instability and creates an element of intensity in otherwise serene façade of the building. The goal is to integrate new inner spaces to the street space so the new building enters the city nucleus as its integral part – even though the design elements of the façade are entirely modern.
How does the building work?closeopen
The functional and space division aspects of the building are selected so they can enable maximum flexibility of inner spaces and multifunction corresponding to its location at the edge of the inner city nucleus. Apart from the building design itself, there is an emphasis on technology solutions on the level of smart building.
From the 3rd floor up, the glass panels of window systems on the façade are equipped with electronically controlled aluminum outside shutters. The vertical communication is ensured by a stairway; its partially glazed space encloses a pair of glass elevators.
